Taser Certification: $20.00 www.secuirtytacticsacademy.com 832-834-4476 This class will certify the student to carry an Electronic Immobilization Device (EID) while on duty. The student will learn about safe and effective use, and laws pertaining to the use of said device. This courses emphasize hands-on, scenario-based training to better prepare security officers for real situations. We cover diverse topics like EDI technology, smart usage, reporting, weapon maintenance, and follow-up procedures. All students receive a certificate upon successful completion of this course.

With crime on the rise in many areas, personal safety is something for all of us to consider. Many products are currently on the market to help in the instance of an attack, and with each, training and know-how is needed. Expandable batons are one the self-defense weapons of choice for many security officers because they are relatively easy to use and are quite effective. This class will certify the student to carry a baton while on duty. The student will learn about safe and effective use & use of force issues. This is a hands-on class where student must be able to properly demonstrate the defensive tactics that are taught. All students will receive a certificate upon successful completion of this course.

OC Spray Certification: $20.00 This course will certify the student to carry OC Pepper Spray while on duty. The course focuses on the deployment, handling and documentation of the use of OC (oleoresin capsicum) chemical aerosols.This class will train the security officer in the use of aerosols tactics and will help protect both the officer as well as their agency from costly litigation issues that could arise from the use of OC aerosol projectors.The program addresses proper deployment techniques, situational requirements and situational appropriateness of various projectors, defensive and retention contamination drills, decontamination, proper use-of-force reporting and operational guidelines. All students receive a pocket card upon successful completion of this course.

Handcuff Certification: $20.00 For security officers, handcuffs do not only act as a deterrent, they can be used to restrict and restrain the movement of persons who exhibit extreme violence and high risk, or as a last resort for those who refuse to comply with the strategies security officers must employ before involving the police. In fact, handcuffing is regarded as a preferable method restraint amongst many security officers, as opposed to group restraint tactics which can pose a threat to the welfare of the person being restrained. If handcuffs are not applied in the correct manner, this could result in a number of implications. If the cuffs are too tight, this could result in injury of the subject, and if they are not double-locked, this gives the chance for the subject to escape. Although handcuffs are being used as a restrictive tool, the fit should be both secure and comfortable. Students will be issued with a certificate upon completion of the course.

Level 3 Commissioned Officer Tuition: $120.00 - Range fees included Requalification: $60 - Range fees included This course is required by the Texas Department of Public Safety-Regulatory Services Division to anyone wanting to work as a commissioned (armed) private security officer in the state of Texas. In accordance with Chapter 1702 of the Texas Occupations Code and RSD rules, this course must be completed, to be able to issue a “Commissioned” (armed) security officer license. The Level 3 course is the next step in the journey to become a Security Professional. This is a hands-on course that requires the student to properly demonstrate the defensive maneuvers, patrol procedures, and handcuffing techniques. Security Tactics academy offers a convenient way to complete the training requirements to receive a LTC/CHL from the Texas Department of Public Safety. We offer Saturday classes, and, upon request, day and evening classes during the week. Upon successful completion of the class and submission of the application materials, the state will issue you a license as soon as 30 days.
